How Do You Know If You Have Crohn's Disease ?

As such, it is helpful to understand some of the basic symptoms of these problematic disorders. This way, people suffering from these symptoms may realize what condition they may have.

Specifically, one of the most misunderstood conditions is Crohn's Disease. As such, it is important to be able to recognize its common symptoms. This will allow individuals who may have the condition avoid the clutter surrounding is and seek the proper treatment they will need.

So, here are some of the common indicators that you may have Crohn’s disease:

Specifically, Crohn’s disease is a condition where the gastrointestinal tract is severely inflamed. The cause of this illness is still unknown even though the condition was first diagnosed by the medical profession in the 1930’s. It is commonly believed that bacteria are the root cause, but this is only conjecture. Since the inflamed tract runs through a large portion of the intestinal region in the body, it can cause a great deal of pain. As such, the presence of severe abdominal cramps and sharp pains may be a significant warning sign.

Severe diarrhea is the most common problem with this condition. Often, the need to go to the bathroom is so severe that it becomes impossible for the individual to remain in control of their bowels. As such, this greatly limits the activities they can do in life since they must always have access to bathroom facilities.

A side effect of the excessive diarrhea is that the body will always be in a state of dehydration. This can also lead to rapid weight loss and other serious problems. If left untreated, even more severe problems may develop due to the dehydrated state.

Anal fissures – tears in the anal region – can occur due to the frequency of going to the bathroom. This can lead to rectal bleeding. The severity of the bleeding can vary from individual to individual but the presence of such bleeding definitely should be cause for alarm. Also, the commonality of this problem can lead to severe rectal pain. Even simply moving around or walking can lead to sharp rectal pains if the problems persists enough.

The problems in the intestinal track also lead to other difficult symptoms. For example, high fevers are common among those that suffer from Crohn’s. Also, it is not uncommon for night sweats to occur which can make sleeping difficult and uncomfortable.

Then, there are psychological problems that a person can develop from Crohn’s disease. This includes anxiety, depression, and other personality disorders. As such, it is critical to seek treatment if these psychological problems develop.

If you suffer from any of the symptoms detailed herein, it would be best to speak to a mental health professional as soon as possible. Crohn’s disease is a serious condition and delaying treatment could lead to a multitude of other problems.
